The largest photovoltaic project in the Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China, built by the Chinese Huadian Corporation, has connected to the grid and started generating electricity, the company announced via its official WeChat account.

The power plant has an installed capacity of 120 thousand kilowatts. According to the company, the project can save 76,300 tons of coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 219,600 tons per year.

This will provide safe and environmentally friendly electricity, ensuring that the winter electricity shortage in Nagku is filled and further stimulating local economic and social development.

More than 1,000 workers contributed to the construction of the project, which provided a connection to the grid and electricity generation in just 90 days.

This project is the most important electricity generation project in Sizan, mentioned in the 14th five-year plan for the period 2021-25 to ensure stable electricity supply, supported by a total investment of about $127.33 million.
