Minister of Youth and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur said that India will bet on hosting the Olympic Games in 2036. Mr. Thakur said that the government will present the roadmap to the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the IOC session in Mumbai in September 2023. The competition will be hosted by the city of Ahmedabad in the western state of Gujarat, there is all the necessary infrastructure for international competitions.
“India chairs the Group of Twenty in a big way, I am sure that the government, together with the Indian Olympic Committee, will be able to apply for the Olympics,” Thakur said.
