Russia has ratified an agreement with India on the protection of space technologies

Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and By the Government of the Republic of India on measures to protect technologies in connection with cooperation in the field of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes and in the creation and operation of launch vehicles and ground-based space infrastructure.”

The document provides for inspection of the procedure for handling protected products and technologies and maintenance of the work carried out with them; establishes the procedure for their export and transportation, customs control and customs operations in respect of goods related to protected products and technologies, regulates the legal and physical protection of protected property, as well as the procedure for cooperation between both countries in case of an emergency situations.
Within the framework of joint activities, Russia and India will not exchange classified information.
The agreement meets the interests of the Russian Federation and will contribute to improving the effectiveness of legal regulation of cooperation in respect of goods and services related to advanced technologies in the field of launch vehicles and ground-based space infrastructure, the International Affairs Committee said in its conclusion, RIA NOVOSTI reported.
