The Russian Government has approved the draft agreement between Russia and Myanmar on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy prepared by Rosatom State Corporation. The order was published on Wednesday on the official Internet portal of legal information.

According to the document, Rosatom, together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, was instructed to hold talks with Myanmar and, upon reaching an agreement, sign a corresponding agreement on behalf of the Russian government. At the same time, it is clarified that changes may be made to his project that are not of a fundamental nature.

The agreement stipulates that the Russian Federation and Myanmar will cooperate in the design and construction of nuclear reactors and particle accelerators, exploration and development of uranium deposits, as well as the supply of nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants and research nuclear reactors.

In addition, both countries will take measures to ensure and regulate nuclear and radiation safety.
