Issues of development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed

On December 29 of this year, within the framework of the working visit of the government delegation to Astana, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev held talks with Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.

The focus was on the execution of the instructions of the Heads of the two states, given following the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan.

Alikhan Smailov stressed that as a result of the visit, breakthrough agreements were reached in all priority areas of bilateral cooperation. Their implementation is spelled out in detail in a specially developed Roadmap, which will give impetus to the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the republics.

The sides noted the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral trade, the active deepening of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries. The importance of government support for initiatives to develop and implement new joint projects was emphasized.

During the talks, other topical issues of bilateral cooperation were also discussed. The Uzbek side stressed the readiness of the Government of Uzbekistan to work productively in close cooperation with the Government of Kazakhstan to achieve common goals and objectives in priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Roadmap for the implementation of agreements reached following negotiations between the presidents of the two countries on December 21-22, 2022. On the Uzbek side, this document will be signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
