Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 will be built in Central Asia

The roadmap for the construction of a new hydroelectric power plant was signed by Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Earlier it was reported that Tashkent and Astana expressed interest in the station project. The governments of the countries announced support for plans to create a future joint venture, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan writes.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan declares that the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 will stabilize the supply of water to the countries of Central Asia, as well as provide the region with electricity. In turn, the head of a similar department of Kyrgyzstan, said that the construction of the station on the territory of the country will solve the problem of electricity shortage in the republic. If the project is successfully completed, it will even be able to produce electricity for export.

The planned capacity of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 should be 1,860 megawatts, the output is 5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. For comparison, the Granmaison in France with a capacity of 1,860 megawatts is 9% of the capacity of all hydroelectric power plants in the country.
