In Russia, they will create a “tourist card” for non-cash payments of foreigners

Russia plans to expand the volume of inbound tourism. A “Tourist Card” will be created for non-cash payments of foreign citizens.

This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with the tourism industry.

“In order to increase the incoming tourist flow, it is necessary to create a “Tourist Card”, thanks to which foreign citizens will be able to pay in a non—cash way,” Izvestia quoted the minister as saying.

Reshetnikov also mentioned the restart of the electronic visa system for foreigners among the strategic issues of the industry.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Ivanov announced the readiness of the unified electronic visa system for foreigners. To apply for such a visa, you do not need an invitation, a hotel reservation or other documents confirming the purpose of the trip. The visa will be valid for 60 days from the date of receipt. You can stay on it in Russia for no more than 16 days.
