The company has entered into an agreement with Haugaland Næringspark to locate a terminal in Gismarvik.
Horisont Energi has chosen a site in Norway where a ground-based CO2 capture terminal will be built for the large-scale Errai Carbon Capture and Storage CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) project, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Europe.

The company has signed an agreement with Haugaland Næringspark to locate a terminal in Gismarvik on the west coast of Norway, where Haugaland Næringspark owns one of the largest industrial zones, where all the necessary infrastructure has already been created, including a port pool with a deep-water berth.

The terminal will receive CO2 from both European and Norwegian customers, including from the planned CO2 terminal in the port of Rotterdam.
From there, the carbon will be transported by pipeline to the North Sea, where it will be pumped and permanently stored in an offshore tank.
