The meeting is being held in Jeddah from January 9 to 12, 2023, with the invitation of regulators and participants in the organization of Hajj for Muslim pilgrims from different countries. The delegation from Russia is headed by the Commissioner for Hajj Affairs in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Umakhanov Ilyas Magomed-Salamovich and the head of the Hajj mission of Russia Asuev Hizbula Aslanbegovich.

During the meeting of the conference, an agreement was signed between Russia and Saudi Arabia on holding the Hajj season 2023 for Russian Muslims. The agreement states that the quota for Hajj for Russian Muslims in 2023 will be 25 thousand places. Thus, the volume of quotas for Hajj has been returned to the pre-pandemic level. Recall that in 2020, the total number of quotas was 3 million places, including 25,000 places for Russia and 1800 places for Tatarstan. In 2022, for the first time after a break, Russian pilgrims performed the Hajj under a number of conditions, one of which was the age limit to 65 years. In 2022, 810 Tatarstan citizens went to the Hajj. Quotas for the implementation of Hajj vouchers in 2023 among muftiats and coordination centers of Russia will be distributed later.

The work of the conference will continue until Thursday, it is planned to discuss the issues of the quality of service for Hajiyev, improving the efficiency of productivity and operation of technical, transport, hotel and other resources, logistics, food, etc. During the event, Kamil Hazrat and Ranis Hazrat visited an exhibition dedicated to Hajj and Umrah and took part in the grand opening of the Hajj and Umrah season 2023.
