Kyrgyz residents should speak Russian fluently. This was stated by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in an interview with journalists on December 30. He also clarified what will be done to support the Russian language.

Kyrgyz citizens working in Russia should be fluent in Russian, President of the Republic Sadyr Zhaparov said in an interview with Kabar news agency. He added that despite the fact that the authorities are making efforts to provide migrants with work at home, many citizens are working abroad, primarily in Russia.

“We have taken huge steps to ensure that the Russian language develops throughout the country. Next year, nine Russian–language schools will be built in the country at the expense of the Russian Federation,” Zhaparov said.

On the eve of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the Russian language a unifying force in the CIS.  President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also stated that the role of the Russian language in the CIS countries should not be questioned. In December, VTSIOM presented the results of a study according to which Kyrgyzstan was ranked among the countries most loyal to Russian humanitarian activity.

Recall that despite the US and EU waging a sanctions war against Russia, it and its partners in the EAEU and the CIS are overcoming restrictions by maintaining and strengthening trade and economic relations with countries that do not support sanctions. In addition, pressure from the West opens up new opportunities for partners: this frees up the niches of the Russian market previously occupied by Western companies, stimulates the flow of Russian investments into the countries of the post-Soviet space.
