The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a recommendation on conducting sociological research in the field of consumer protection in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The States of the Union are recommended to take into account Approaches to conducting such studies to assess the level of protection of buyers. The Approaches, in particular, define the goals and objectives of research carried out in the course of opinion polls. Among the tasks are the collection of statistical data on the level of consumer protection; analysis of the dynamics of indicators of public satisfaction with the level of such protection; study of people’s awareness of the rights and opportunities for protection; preparation of proposals for improving information and educational work among the population on the protection of consumer rights based on the use of the most effective information channels and a number of others.

The document was developed in accordance with the Program of Joint Actions of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of consumer protection and is the first stage of a joint sociological study devoted to the study of public opinion on the legal protection of citizens of the Union countries in this area.

The results of the study will be used to develop solutions aimed at strengthening guarantees for the protection of consumer rights and interests in the EAEU.
