NEW MINISTRIES AND MINISTERS. Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the updated composition of the Government of Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the topic of priority tasks for members of the government within the framework of administrative reform. This was announced by the Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov, reports NIAT “Khovar”.

One of the first announcements was the transfer of two ministers to presidential advisers: Finance Minister Timur Ishmetov becomes the first deputy adviser on the development of economic sectors, investments and foreign trade, and the head of the Ministry of Education Abdukodir Taskulov is appointed deputy adviser on Youth Affairs, sciences, education, health, sports and culture.

Within the framework of the decree According to the President’s decree on administrative reform of December 21, two ministries are being reorganized. On the basis of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Economy and Finance is being created, which will be headed by the current chairman of the GNC Sherzod Kudbiev.

The Ministry of Higher Education, in turn, will be merged with the Ministry of Innovation into the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The current Minister of Innovative Development, Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov, is appointed as its head.

In addition, part of the functions of the Ministry of Economic Development (in particular, “mahallabai”) is transferred to the Ministry of Labor, which will now be called the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction. The functions of the Minmahalli will also be transferred to him.

The new Ministry of Employment will be headed by Behzod Musayev, who will be replaced by First Deputy Amrilla Inoyatov as head of the Ministry of Health.

The MIVT will be transformed into the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) with the remaining functions of the Ministry of Economic Development. Jamshed Khodjaev will cede the ministerial post to his first deputy Laziz Kudratov, but will remain deputy Prime Minister.

Jamshid Kuchkarov, who headed the disbanded Ministry of Economic Development, will continue to work in the government as deputy Prime Minister. Achilbai Ramatov and the head of the Women and Family Committee, Zulaykho Makhkamova, will also remain deputy prime Ministers.

The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services are merged into the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services. The post of its head will be occupied by the current Minister of Construction Botir Zakirov.

The State Committee of Geology is being transformed into the Ministry of Mining and Geology. Bobur Islamov will lead it again.

On the basis of two more committees — ecology and Forestry — the Ministry of Natural Resources (Ministry of Natural Resources) is being created. Its head will be the current head of the Ministry of Tourism Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The Ministry of Tourism itself joins the Ministry of Culture, as a result of which the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will appear in Uzbekistan. It will be led by the current Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov.

MDO and MNO will become one Ministry — preschool and school education. It will be headed by the head of the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions (which will also become part of the ministry) Hilola Umarova, and her first deputy will be the current head of the MDO Agrippina Shin.

Mininfocom is being transformed into the Ministry of Digital Development (Mincifra). Sherzod Shermatov will remain the head.

In addition to him, the head of the Ministry of Sports (transformed into the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs) Adham Ikramov and the recently appointed head of the Ministry of Energy Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov will retain their post.
