At the annual conference of the Union of Arab Writers, which was held under the slogan “Creativity, responsibility and Ethics”, the activities of the organization over the past year and ways to activate it were reviewed. It is pointed out the need to pay attention to young writers and support their talents.
Within the framework of the conference, a presentation of a documentary film prepared by Tawfiq Ahmad, a member of the Executive Committee of the Union, about the program and plans of the Union implemented over the past year was held.
The head of the Union of Arab Writers, Muhammad Al-Khaurani, stressed in his speech that what Syria has been subjected to in terms of conspiracies and terrorism has only increased the resilience of its people in defending their land and the Palestinian cause. He noted the role of Arab writers in supporting and solidarity with Syria to break the blockade, especially after the earthquake.
The speeches of the conference participants focused on the role of cultural activities in the fight against terrorism, as well as on improving the conditions for the creativity of writers so that they fully fulfill their patriotic and intellectual duty.
