The Global Millets online event, organized as part of the International Year of Millets, will take place on March 18 – the Embassy of India in Moscow wrote about this in its Telegram channel. This conference will be one of the events dedicated to Sri Anna – in the words of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “the best of all food grains.”

“The Embassy of India in Moscow is pleased to invite members of the Indian community to take a virtual part in the Global Millets conference (Sri Anna) on March 18, 2023 at 08:30 Moscow time, as part of the celebration of the International Year of Millet 2023,” the message reads.

The press service of the diplomatic mission also replied that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the opening of the conference.

Earlier, Embassy Life wrote that the UN General Assembly declared 2023 the International Year of Millets. It is planned that this time period will have a positive impact on the implementation of the Agenda for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activities carried out within the framework of IYM 2023 are aimed at popularizing millet in regions with unfavorable climatic conditions for other grain crops.
