Mutual trade between Russia and China continues to develop at an accelerated pace, head of the Chinese diplomatic mission Zhang Hanhui said in an interview for RIA Novosti on Friday. The Ambassador noted that over the past two months, the Russian-Chinese trade turnover has increased by more than a quarter, and revenue from imports from Russia has increased by 31.3% compared to the previous year.

“Over the two months of this year, there has been a steady upward trend in bilateral trade; its volume has reached $ 33.69 billion, which is 25.9% more than a year earlier. Including the export of Chinese products to Russia amounted to $ 15.04 billion, which is 19.8% more than last year, and the volume of imports from Russia reached $ 18.65 billion, which is 31.3% more than a year earlier,” the head of the diplomatic mission said.

In addition, the ambassador added that China hopes for further cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of trade and economic relations. The purpose of this cooperation will be to strengthen diplomatic ties between the states, as well as to bring the total trade turnover to $ 200 billion.

“We are always ready, together with Russia, to use the opportunities of the huge Chinese market, the openness of China, and the deepening of international cooperation. We are confident that under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, thanks to the joint efforts of our governments, regional authorities and business circles, bilateral business cooperation will rise to a new level. We are confident that the goal set by the heads of the two states to bring the bilateral trade turnover to $ 200 billion will soon be achieved,” the Ambassador was quoted as saying by the news agency.
