Voting monitoring has begun at the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan

Voting in the elections to the lower house of Parliament has opened in Kazakhstan. A group of international observers from the IPA CIS monitors voting in the republic and at foreign polling stations.

Coordinator of the monitoring group, Deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Vagharshak Hakobyan and Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitry Kobitsky visited sites No. 110 in the building of JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”, No. 130 in the building of Joint Stock Company “Jýsan Bank” and No. 393 in the Opera and Ballet Theater “Astana Opera”.

At the polling station 110, they were present at the sealing of the ballot boxes and the beginning of voting.

Observers testified that all the necessary procedures were carried out in full, voting opened according to plan – at 7:00.

They also talked with members of election commissions, national observers and voting Kazakhstanis. During the monitoring process, the members of the group pay attention to the availability and completeness of information materials, ensuring the secrecy of voting and the free expression of the will of voters, the availability of conditions for voting of people with limited mobility.

As part of the monitoring group from the IPA CIS, parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Assembly officials and experts from the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy work on individual routes at sites in various regions of the Republic, as well as in 11 countries outside its borders.

In total, 61 observers from the IPA CIS have been accredited by the Central Election Commission.
