The story about the mineral spring “Garmchashma”, located in the Western Pamir, continues the cycle of publications about the most interesting and remarkable places of Tajikistan. This landmark is known both for its terrain and for the healing properties of water, which has been used for many years to restore the human body. “Embassy Life” offers to get acquainted with the information about the source of “Garmchashma” provided by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation.

42 kilometers from the city of Khorog, in the southwestern part of the Pamirs at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level, there is a mineral spring “Garmchashma” — a hydrotherapy.

In an indescribably beautiful place, the mid-mountain part of the valley, on the right bank of the Garm-Chashma River, where the eternally white, giant peaks of the Pamir Mountains are visible from afar, there is a hot spring “Garmchashma”. According to historical data, it has existed for millennia, and there is no doubt about it, because only a centuries-old existence could form a huge traversive deposit.

People come here to be treated from different parts of the world, thanks to the beautiful nature of the recreation area and the incomparably valuable healing properties of mineral waters. Therefore, the area “Garmchashma” is one of the main attractions of the Western Pamirs.

Despite the high altitude, coolness always reigns on the territory of the Garmchashma physical hospital, which contributes to the favorable recovery of the human body.

The mineral waters that come out on the surface of the “Garmchashma” springs from the very depths of the earth, from ancient crystalline and metamorphic rocks resemble fountains. For many centuries, travertine slides with a height of 7-8 meters and a length of 1500 meters were formed around them, wonderful ledges falling down to the river.

According to its physico-chemical properties, the water of the Garmchashma spring belongs to hydrogen sulfide-carbon dioxide, chloride-bicarbonate, sodium-siliceous terms. The average water temperature is 59 degrees.

The composition of water contains the most valuable trace elements such as magnesium, fluorine, iron, aluminum, strontium. All these substances are biological stimulants, and increase the balneological values of water.

In the resort area of Garmchashma there are also cold mineral springs of Narzan, which are safely used in complex treatment.

The electronic online publication “Embassy Life” expresses its gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation for the information and media files provided.
