On the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia A.S. Mirzoyan to the Russian Federation

On March 20, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia A.S. Mirzoyan paid a working visit to Moscow.

During the talks, the foreign ministers discussed in detail topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the promotion of political dialogue at all levels. Record indicators of mutual trade turnover, positive dynamics of interregional cooperation were stated. In the humanitarian field, the intention to strengthen the unified educational, scientific and linguistic space has been confirmed.

The Ministers exchanged three-volume collections of Russian-Armenian treaties and agreements “The Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia: 30 Years of Allied Cooperation” prepared for the first time by the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

A detailed conversation took place on cooperation in common integration mechanisms – the EAEU, the CIS and the CSTO. It was agreed to continue close coordination on international platforms, to support each other’s initiatives, primarily in the UN.

An important topic was regional issues, including the settlement of the situation around the Lachin corridor and in Nagorno-Karabakh as a whole. The importance of the early resumption of practical work on all tracks of the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020, January 11, November 26, 2021 was noted. and on October 31, 2022, including the launch of specific projects within the framework of the Trilateral Working Group on unblocking all transport and economic ties in the region, the activation of the activities of the Commission on the Delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the advisory assistance of Russia, the coordination of the parameters of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The talks were held in a frank and trusting manner inherent in the Armenian-Russian relations, contributed to the formation of a better understanding of each other’s positions and the strengthening of the allied bond in the rapidly changing situation in the world.
