Ren Xiaorong has become a presenter of the People’s Daily and, according to information from the Network, can tell users about the main Chinese event of the last month – the meetings of the “Two Sessions”.
“Through the People’s Daily app, you can ask Ren Xiaorong to tell you more about the various topics covered in the two sessions, including education, epidemic prevention, housing, employment, environmental protection and many other issues,” the message posted on Weibo said.
So far, the virtual presenter’s freedom of action is severely limited – she can determine which topics users have been interested in lately, but cannot respond to specific requests.
It should be noted that Ren Xiaorong was not the first “virtual worker” of “People’s Daily”. Back in 2019, the agency presented a news anchor working with artificial intelligence at the Big Data Expo 2019. The so–called Guo Guo had a visual prototype – reporter Guo Xinyu.
