Kyrgyzstan is on a record for receiving foreign guests, it is expected that 10 million tourists will visit Kyrgyzstan this year. This is almost twice as much as last year, and will be a record figure for our country.

Recently, the authorities of the republic have been paying particularly close attention to the promotion of the tourism industry. The strategy is built with a clear understanding that this industry should develop comprehensively, it is not at all detached hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues and shops. The sphere of reception and service of guests as a living organism should be able to quickly reconfigure and efficiently serve a large flow of vacationers, taking into account their preferences and financial capabilities.

Issyk-Kul is the main attraction and pride of Kyrgyzstan. And for many years it was our mountain pearl that attracted foreign guests. Therefore, it is in the summer that the most massive influx of vacationers from near and far abroad falls. A lot of hotels and resorts have appeared on the shore of the lake, designed for a variety of clients, there are both quite budget options and elite towns with VIP apartments.

The service sector is also constantly improving: if earlier tourists were offered sightseeing trips to gorges, now the choice of routes for exploring nature, culture and traditions is much wider – from bathing in hot springs and kumysolechenie, to climbing mountain peaks with overnight stays in a yurt town. Well, what does not need advertising is our kitchen. We know how to cook everything – from national beshbarmak and chuchuk, pilaf, manta rays and lagman to borscht and porridge.

A regular Moscow – Tamchi flight has already been launched. During the summer tour season, Aeroflot will perform it three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. St. Petersburg is next in line. The issue of opening direct communication with several other major cities of the Urals and Siberia is being closely worked out. And according to the observations of tour operators, Russians show an increased interest in the unique natural landscape and sights of Kyrgyzstan. It is already a recognizable and very attractive brand.

Now a large-scale reconstruction of airports is underway throughout the republic, which is supervised and controlled by President Sadyr Zhaparov. During a recent trip to Karakol, he stressed that air transport is more preferable for tourists. A well-developed network of airlines and modern air harbors will allow a multiple increase in the flow of tourists to our country and will open access to world tourist markets.

When getting acquainted with the projects for the development of mountain tourism in Issyk-Kul region, the head of state noted that all the projects being developed should be aimed at expanding the tourism potential of the region and the country as a whole. One of the main tasks should be to improve the infrastructure, ensure the safety of mountain tourism, create comfortable conditions for recreation, allowing you to receive guests all year round.

Now the government is working to ensure that winter holidays in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan are no less promoted than summer entertainment on the shores of the pearl of Kyrgyzstan. The first step towards building such a recreation industry should be the Mountain Cluster project in Issyk-Kul region. According to the document approved by the Prime Minister, a ski resort area with five modern ski slopes and comfortable hotels for the reception of vacationers will be created in the region by 2028.

As world practice shows, each subject of the ski resort creates about 750 jobs. At the same time, it is expected that in related industries, such as catering, housing and communal services, the social sphere (healthcare, education, culture, recreation), about 20 thousand additional jobs can be opened.

The tourism industry in Kyrgyzstan is at the stage of formation, and, according to experts, with the right approach, the share of this sector of the economy in the country’s GDP may increase significantly in the foreseeable future, respectively, this will entail a reduction in unemployment rates in the regions, an increase in citizens’ incomes and an increase in living standards. Tourism in Kyrgyzstan, a country with unique natural beauties, is becoming an industry that is entering the trajectory of sustainable growth and development.
