A forum on international rail transportation has started in the capital of Turkmenistan

A three-day forum dedicated to the improvement and updating of the International Transit Tariff Agreement (MTT) has opened in Ashgabat. This document is an interstate agreement that establishes uniform rules and tariffs for transit rail freight. This was reported by the correspondent of CentralAsia.news from the capital of Turkmenistan.

The event is attended by representatives of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, the Czech Republic, as well as the Committee of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSZhD) and enterprises affiliated to this structure.

The discussion agenda of the meeting of representatives of the parties to the MTT Agreement will include issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of OSZhD, expansion of the contractual and legal framework of cooperation and ensuring the competitiveness of transit cargo transportation by rail.

Within the framework of the forum, the participants intend to sign a number of documents aimed at strengthening and further developing mutually beneficial partnerships, improving and updating the above-mentioned agreement.

In addition, foreign guests will enjoy a rich cultural program, including sightseeing tours of the capital of Turkmenistan.
