Scientists from Kuban State Medical University (KubSMU) have created a unique nerve repair technology.

According to the researchers, the development will reduce the cost of treatment, as well as provide rapid functional recovery of limbs.

Currently, healthy areas of their own nerves are used for compressions and injuries of the nerves of the extremities. After that, pathological disorders appear in the donor area, and the results of surgical treatment are not always satisfactory.

KubSMU scientists suggest using a decellularized peripheral nerve matrix. After special treatment, the resulting material does not contain cells and their decay products and the structural organization of the tissue is largely preserved, reports.

Earlier it was reported that scientists from the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University have developed a new technology for histological examination. It will help patients with cancer to avoid repeated operations.
