Two large fish processing plants will be built in the Almaty region, the correspondent of “Khabar 24” reports. They intend to implement these plans there in the next two years.

Recently, the demand for fish products has increased in the region. More and more entrepreneurs are doing business in this industry. For example, in the Enbekshikazakh district they want to breed trout.

The royal trout fish lives mainly in mountain rivers. This is a special kind of fish, which is famous for its unsurpassed, unique taste. It has been grown at the enterprise for 10 years. They say there is enough experience and they are always ready to help novice fish farmers here. Therefore, a special training course was organized: from the anatomy of fish to its reproduction.

Yerlan Kegenov, lecturer at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University:

– Trout live in cold mountain water. But nowadays they have learned to grow it in artificially created reservoirs. It all depends on the conditions created and the water temperature.

Last year, the fishery produced 300 tons of fish. The fry were purchased abroad, because no one grows them in Kazakhstan. The industry is supported by the state. Almost 100 million tenge was returned to the fisheries in the form of subsidies. But even they, as fish farmers say, are not paid on time.

Marlene Tursynali, Head of Fisheries:

– We have not received investment subsidies since last year. Everything remained on paper. This money is needed now, but we will get it in the winter. But we cover expenses with subsidies and invest in the development of the economy.

There are 6 fish farms in the Enbekshikazakh district. Together they produce more than 400 tons of commercial fish annually.

Ermek Zhakeev, Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Enbekshikazakh district:

– This year it is planned to open four more fish farms in our district. As soon as they reach production capacity, fish reproduction will reach 1200 tons. These are good indicators for our district.

By 2030, Kazakhstan intends to produce 300 thousand tons of commercial fish. A special program has been developed on behalf of the Head of State. There are plans to build an innovative enterprise with a production capacity of 10 thousand tons of fish in the Almaty region.
