Belarus and Russia will sign key documents on the development of machine tool industry in the near future, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Efimov said at the opening of the 23rd International specialized exhibition of equipment, instruments and tools for the metalworking industry “Metalloobrabotka”.

The Deputy Head of the department noted that the basis of import independence is technological independence, which allows to ensure the stability of production. And the Union State pays the closest attention to this direction.

“The governments of Belarus and Russia will sign key documents on the development of machine tool industry in the near future. Among other things, it is planned to develop an appropriate scientific and technical program,” Alexander Efimov said.

According to him, it is planned to solve the issues of financing and creating conditions for stimulating the dynamic development of the machine tool industry, while the emphasis will be placed not only on key products, but also on creating its own element base. The Deputy Head of the department stressed that the domestic machine should become a product with a high degree of localization of all major components and systems.
