The EAEU leaders intend to amend the treaty on the Union and sign a protocol on cooperation projects

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the agenda of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which will be held on May 25 in Moscow. This was announced at a briefing on the results of the EEC Council held on May 22 by the official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Iya Malkina, BelTA correspondent reports.

“It is expected that the Supreme Council will sign a protocol on amendments to the EAEU Treaty in terms of providing financial assistance in the implementation of joint cooperation projects in industries by the EAEU states, as well as a package of amendments to the EAEU Treaty – the so-called III Big Protocol,” Iya Malkina said.

“It is planned to submit reports to the heads of state on the implementation of the main directions of the EAEU’s international activities in 2022, as well as on the implementation of the strategy – 2025 and information on the results of the work carried out in 2022 on natural monopolies,” the representative of the EEC noted. “The Supreme Council will discuss the implementation of approaches to the development of trade and economic cooperation with the main partners of the EAEU in the medium term based on the results of last year, plans for liberalization in certain sectors of services within the EAEU, the results of monitoring the implementation by states of the provisions provided for by the rules of regulation of trade in services, institutions and activities.”

In addition, the leaders of the EAEU countries plan to consider changes to the EEC work regulations and other issues.
