This year Belarus maintains a positive balance in trade with Russia – plus $896 million for the first quarter of 2023. This was announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoy at a meeting with the head of state Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

“Last year we managed to reverse the trend with a negative balance in trade with Russia. For the first time in history, we received a plus for both goods and services. In the first quarter of this year, the situation was further improved. Today we have a total balance plus $896 million,” Dmitry Krutoy stressed.

According to him, a significant share – about 60% – in the service sector is occupied by transport services. And due to the current situation in the logistics sector, the positive balance in turnover with Russia in the service sector has slightly decreased this year. But in general, the indicators remain quite high.
