On May 25, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received the appointed Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Moscow, Chama Ugala Uriata, who presented copies of credentials.

During the conversation, topical issues of further development of multifaceted Russian-Ethiopian cooperation with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, educational and humanitarian fields were discussed.

At the same time, Moscow and Addis Ababa confirmed their intention to deepen political dialogue and coordinate steps in the international arena, including on the issues of resolving the situation in Sudan and the Horn of Africa. The topic of preparations for the second Russia–Africa summit in St. Petersburg in July this year was touched upon.
