On February 11, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov sent a congratulatory message to a prominent political figure of Japan, former Prime Minister Yu.Hatoyama on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
The message notes the long-term efforts of the Japanese politician to comprehensively promote Russian-Japanese relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding. The wide positive response caused by Yu’s trip is emphasized.Hatoyama returned to Crimea in 2015, which allowed Japanese citizens to learn about the actual situation on the peninsula and the circumstances of its reunification with Russia.
The message was delivered personally by Yu .Hatoyama by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Japan M.Y.Galuzin.
