Announced by the decree of the President of the United States J.Biden’s blocking of the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in the amount of $ 7 billion stored in the United States raises the question of the sincerity of the statements of the White House about the desire to help stabilize the situation in this country. Given the extremely difficult humanitarian situation that has developed, including as a result of the failed military campaign of the United States and its NATO allies, Washington is actually exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and obstructing the new authorities in Kabul who are trying to establish a normal life.
We consider it absurd that Washington reserves more than half of the frozen assets of the Afghan central bank to pay compensation for claims of relatives of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Why should the Afghan people, who in no way participated in the organization of these terrorist attacks, now have to pay for them? And the statement of the American administration that it reserves the right to decide on the issuance of $ 3.5 billion of the money belonging to them as assistance to the Afghans, can not be called anything but a mockery of common sense.
