Dear Mr. Minister,

Mr. OSCE Chairman-in-Office,

Colleagues,

We are glad to see you. Not so long ago we talked with you “on the sidelines” of various international events. In the light of the current Polish presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, we considered it expedient to meet and discuss the situation that has developed in this Organization and the priorities formulated and presented by the Polish Presidency at the meeting of the Permanent Council in January this year.

You took over the reins of the OSCE at a bad time. In the past years, too many problems have accumulated that undermine the very foundations of the creation of the OSCE and the goals that the heads of State set for it, namely: to be an Organization of cooperation, dialogue and compromise.

It seems to me that there is a rational grain in the ideas that you presented when you took up this post, and in the considerations that Russia, together with its like-minded people, has brought to the OSCE in recent years. Today we will try to find common ground to help our Polish colleagues achieve positive results as OSCE Chairman.
