On March 12, at the initiative of the Kuwaiti side, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov had a telephone conversation with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Majdi Az-Zafiri.
During the conversation, topical issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Kuwaiti relations, including maintaining an active political dialogue, were discussed. Ukrainian issues were also touched upon. The Russian side recalled the history of the conflict in Ukraine caused by the unconstitutional military coup in 2014, and again explained the reasons, goals and objectives of the ongoing special military operation to ensure the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, protect the long-suffering people of Donbass, as well as eliminate the threat to Russia’s national security emanating from Ukrainian territory.
