On April 26, the Press Center of the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted a briefing on the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 5-8) for heads of diplomatic missions of a number of foreign states accredited in Russia. The management of the Roscongress Foundation, with the support of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, held a creative presentation of SPIEF 2024, presented its architecture and key areas of work.

The agenda of the Forum will be built around the motto “The foundation of multipolarity is the formation of new growth centers.”

In the context of increasing global instability and fragmentation of international relations, a new model of a multipolar world order is being created. The change in the geopolitical structure is accompanied by the emergence of new poles of influence by strengthening the sovereignty and competitive capabilities of regional powers. In this context, the ability of States to adequately respond to the complex challenges of our time, equal constructive dialogue and civilized interaction comes to the fore.

The SPIEF 2024 business program is divided into four thematic blocks: (1) “Transition to a multipolar model of the world economy”, (2) “The Russian Economy: Goals and objectives of a new cycle”, (3) “Technologies providing leadership”, (4) “Healthy society, traditional values and social development – the priorities of the state”. All of them meet the main mission of the Forum to maintain the global balance of power and build a multipolar international system. The development of relations should be based on a unifying charge, increasing diverse cooperation and business ties between countries and people.

SPIEF 2024, as one of the most important events of this year, will traditionally bring together high-level delegations, relevant ministers, prominent politicians and parliamentary leaders, heads of international organizations, “captains” of global business, representatives of expert and scientific and academic circles.

In 2023, over 17 thousand people from 130 countries took part in the Forum. The business was represented by 6 thousand participants from more than 3 thousand companies from 75 countries. The event was covered by about 4 thousand journalists from most countries of the world, representing television, print and electronic media. All these facts allow us to say that the SPIEF has become even more popular and continues to be one of the world’s leading platforms on economic topics.
