China – Kyrgyzstan –Uzbekistan railway construction tasks discussed in Beijing

Following the discussions, a roadmap for the implementation of this project was signed, as well as a memorandum on the establishment of a working group.

A working meeting was held in Beijing between Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Tilek Tekebayev and Deputy Chief Engineer of the Chinese Railways State Corporation Ju Guojiang, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

“The heads of the ministries of transport and railway administrations of the three countries discussed the implementation of the tasks defined by the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, signed on June 6, as well as financing mechanisms for the project,” the message says.

Following the discussions, a roadmap for the implementation of this project was signed, as well as a memorandum on the establishment of a working group.

The documents were signed by Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Temir Yillari JSC Zufar Narzullayev, CEO of NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu Azamat Sakiyev and CEO of China Railway Corporation Zhou Xing.

Recall that in Beijing on June 6, an agreement was signed on the implementation of a strategic project — the construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway.

All three countries will feel the economic impact. New enterprises and tens of thousands of jobs will appear, the volume of mutual trade and the scale of industrial cooperation will increase, investment attractiveness, and as the main result, the standard of living of citizens will increase.
In the future, this road will allow access through the promising Trans-Afghan corridor to the capacious markets of South Asia and the Middle East.
According to the agreement, the railway will run along the Kashgar–Torugart–Makmal–Jalalabad –Andijan route.
