I cordially welcome the organisers, participants and guests of the Second International Forum of Ministers of Education ‘Shaping the Future’.

For the second time in a row, the hospitable capital of Tatarstan is hosting ministers of education. The wide geography of participants testifies to the demand for this platform to discuss pressing issues of education and enlightenment, the role of science in addressing the most important tasks of comprehensive and harmonious development of society.

Our country is making consistent efforts to raise the importance of education and science in the search for comprehensive responses to the challenges of our time. The Decade of Science and Technology announced by President Vladimir Putin for the period from 2022-2023 is a vivid confirmation of this. – The Decade of Science and Technology announced by President Vladimir Putin from 2022-2023 is a vivid confirmation of this. Russia is invariably ready to share with international partners advanced developments and promising educational projects. Of course, we are open to studying the best practices of our foreign colleagues.

I am convinced that this event in Kazan will give rise to new initiatives and joint projects, and their implementation will serve for the benefit of our citizens. I am pleased that during the Forum, foreign participants will have the opportunity to visit Moscow to study the best practices of educational organisations and visit the Russia International Exhibition and Forum at VDNKh.

I wish you fruitful discussions and all the best.

S. LAVROV
