At a meeting with Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, the Belarusian leader also stated the need to balance trade with the Republic.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed his country’s readiness to participate in the revival of the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from the Armenian occupation.
He stated this during a meeting with Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, who is on an official visit to Minsk.
Lukashenko recalled the talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his official visit to the republic last month.

“In Shusha, I told him: “You live in paradise.” I have never seen such a place anywhere, having visited many places on our planet: clean air, beautiful nature. I am sure you will accomplish another feat by restoring life in these territories. We will be happy to participate in these works, we have identified the directions. There are no obstacles,” the Belarusian leader said.

Strengthening economic cooperation

Lukashenko also stated the need to balance trade with Azerbaijan.

“Our trade turnover is not bad, but it is not balanced. We need to buy more goods in Azerbaijan,” the president said.

He expressed confidence that this issue will be resolved.
According to Lukashenko, the directions on which more intensive cooperation with Azerbaijan should be discussed recently, including the exchange of technologies in the fields of agriculture and military-industrial complex.

“There are no closed topics. We are ready to work in this direction,” the head of state noted.

He expressed hope that the parliamentarians of both countries would ensure this process at the legislative level.
Touching upon the inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, Lukashenko stressed that this is the case when they do not lag behind the level of relations between the leaders of the countries.
It should be recalled that since June 9, the delegation of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, headed by its chairman Sahiba Gafarova, has been on an official visit to Belarus.
