Tajikistan and Belarus will cooperate in environmental protection

A new memorandum of understanding on environmental protection has been signed between Tajikistan and Belarus

The Environmental Protection Committee of Tajikistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus on development cooperation.
This was reported in the Tajik ministry.
The memorandum was signed within the framework of the 3rd High-level Conference on the Implementation of the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” during the meeting of the head of the Committee Bahodur Sheralizoda with the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Sergey Maslyak.

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of cooperation on the implementation of the principles of the “green” economy, waste management, reduction of the use of plastic products and other issues related to environmental protection.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on their experience in protecting rare species of animals and plants.

We remind you that in the first quarter of this year alone, trade between Tajikistan and Belarus increased 6 times.
The trade turnover during this period amounted to more than 120 million Belarusian rubles (37.6 million dollars). For comparison, in 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 70 million Belarusian rubles (almost 22 million dollars).
