The first meeting of the working group on monitoring the application and improvement of the Rules of Procedure of the CIS Human Rights Commission was held

On August 13, 2024, in pursuance of the Decision of the Commission on Human Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the first meeting of the working group on monitoring the application and improvement of the Rules of Procedure of the Commission on Human Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was chaired by E.V. Paramonova, Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the CIS Human Rights Commission. The event, held in the format of a videoconference, was attended by experts from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee also participated in the meeting.

The head of the working group, E.V. Paramonova, developed a draft Work Plan for the working group for 2024-2025, which was presented to the members of the working group for consideration and suggestions. A constructive dialogue took place, during which the experts finalized the draft Plan and adopted it.

The meeting participants expressed their readiness to summarize and analyze all proposals that will be sent by members of the Commission and other interested parties, as well as, taking into account law enforcement practice, to develop proposals to improve the Rules of Procedure of the Commission and submit them to the CIS Human Rights Commission in 2025.
