Question: Was the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement discussed yesterday during the informal meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and I.G. Aliyev? Is this topic on today’s agenda?
Sergey V. Lavrov: What was discussed one-on-one yesterday is a matter for two presidents. During the press conference, they will probably mention what assessments they gave of the current state of relations between Baku and Yerevan.
We are convinced that the main thing is to follow the spirit and letter of the series of trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022. (1, 2, 3, 4). They cover all aspects of the situation, as well as issues that need to be resolved in order to finally and completely resolve it.
We are in favor of concluding a peace treaty as soon as possible and unblocking communications. Unfortunately, as far as communications through the Syunik region of Armenia are concerned, it is the Armenian leadership that is sabotaging the agreement signed by Prime Minister N.V. Pashinyan. It is difficult to understand what the meaning of such a position is.
The basis laid down in the framework of trilateral meetings and documents remains fully relevant.
