The whole history of mankind is a dialogue of cultures that permeates our entire lives. The interaction of cultures and their dialogue is the most favorable basis for the development of interethnic and interethnic relations. This is an interaction between bearers of different values, in which the best values become the property of representatives of another culture. Thanks to the dialogue of cultures, there is an interpenetration and mutual enrichment of cultures themselves, a spiritual rapprochement of large cultural regions. To do this, international events in the field of culture, crafts and fashion are held in developed countries.
One of the famous fashion events is the international project “ASPARAFASHIONWEEK”. The project was created by one of the world’s most respected fashion designers, Aidarkhan Kaliev, in early 2017. The XIV season of ASPARA FASHION WEEK, like the previous ones, continues to glorify ancient Taraz, the revival of the national spirit, patriotism, dignity and promote traditions and culture. Let’s focus on the highlights of the programs of previous seasons:
-The QAZAQANALARY project. 12 designers from the regions of the republic took part in its creation. Their task was to create the image of a mother woman, the keeper of the hearth. A mother who accepted all the hardships of fate with dignity. A mother who multiplies the healthy generation of Kazakhstan. The uniqueness of the project was that the designers’ clothes were demonstrated by members of the Active Recreation Center for Pensioners. The oldest model of the project was born in 1947. Foreign fashion experts and the audience of the show were touched by the sedateness, nobility and dignity of the Kazakh woman. And, today, several years later, the demand for different age groups of models is gaining momentum not only in Kazakhstan, but also around the world. In the XIV season, 5 Kazakhstani designers will present their original collections on 5 groups of age models from all over Kazakhstan. Thanks to ASPARA FASHION WEEK, not only Kazakhstani designers, but also age models of Kazakhstan have the right to participate on International catwalks.
– the QAZAQ MEN project. The collection of men’s clothing in the neo-folklore style was created to demonstrate the masculinity, brutality and peculiar national identity of the owners of the Great Steppe.
– the project “Kazaktyn kelinderi”. The collection of women’s clothing in the neo-folklore style is created in order to demonstrate femininity, tenderness, wisdom and a peculiar national identity of the beauties of the Great Steppe.
The fashion week programs usually include free seminars on International Trade Centre Ready4 Trade Central Asia projects on entering the global market and USAID Trade Promotion Service Providers, on promoting exports on a grant basis for domestic manufacturers, master classes, showrooms, conversations with fashion industry experts.
A striking event in the program of the XIV season was a fashion show dedicated to the memory of Alla Ilchun (Pearl of Dior), a Kazakh woman, a professional model. 15 leading designers of Kazakhstan presented stylized models, which at one time the muse of Dior Alla shone on international catwalks.

Taraz, once known as the “city of merchants” and standing at the intersection of great trade routes, world civilizations and cultures, is one of the oldest cities in Kazakhstan, with a 2,000-year history. The dust of centuries has covered many ancient cities, but Taraz, dying and reborn again, as always, surprises with new facets of applied art. Today, the fashion industry is actively developing in Taraz, where young designers create creative works exploring national trends.
Since October 2022, Taraz has been the first and, so far, the only city in Kazakhstan, entered at number 56 in the World Network of Artisan cities in the field of woolen goods and felting and will definitely become one of the centers of tourism in Kazakhstan in the near future.
