The Government of Zimbabwe continues to take measures to create an enabling environment for innovation, which is a key factor in the growth of the industry. The republic has embarked on the creation of innovation centers and agro-industrial parks, according to ZBC News, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
The Minister of Higher Education, Innovation, Science and Technological Development, Professor Amon Murvira, said that the authorities are actively investing in projects of this kind.
“At the initiative of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, higher education institutions were instructed to create innovation centers and agro-industrial parks. This process is ongoing. <...> We see how the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is building the largest innovation center, the construction of which will be completed in October this year,” he said.
Murvira also noted that the leadership of Zimbabwe involves citizens from all over the country in the process of industrial development. Thus, villagers have contributed to the creation of facilities such as irrigation systems in the province of East Mashonaland.
