On November 12 in Phnom Penh, on the margins of the 17th East Asia Summit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Lao PDR Sergey Kommasit.
Discussed topical issues of bilateral interaction, including further steps to promote practical cooperation in priority areas.
An exchange of views on international issues confirmed the proximity or similarity of the two countries’ approaches to key issues on the regional and global agenda. The Ministers called for further strengthening of effective coordination of efforts at various international platforms, including within aseanocentric mechanisms.
