As part of the program to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the EEC headquarters hosted a tour for students from the State Academic University of the Humanities (SAUHN), Kosygin Russian State University and Russian Customs Academy studying in the Russian Federation on November 11.

Saken Slambekov, Deputy Director of the Protocol and Organizational Support Department of the Eurasian Economic Union, opened the event and spoke about the activities of the supranational regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union. Saken Slambekov informed about the EEU bodies, the order of adoption of documents, the activities of the Department, as well as the key areas of the Commission. In the hall of the EEC Collegium students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Commission’s software “Electronic Collegium”.

Saken Slambekov drew special attention of the guests of the Commission to its active work with young people.

“It is gratifying to see that so many young people, including representatives of students, show interest in Eurasian economic integration. You are the future!” emphasized the Deputy Director of the Department.

The Strategic directions in the development of the Eurasian economic integration until 2025, which have been approved by the Heads of State, provide for a wide involvement of the public, including young people, in the processes of Eurasian integration. This year Kyrgyzstan successfully hosted the first Youth Forum of the EAEU and the CIS.

We remind that 2022 is a jubilee year for the Commission. The program of celebrating of the 10th anniversary of EEC includes a complex of events, in particular, excursions for students of universities of the EEU member states.

Deputy Chairman of the Youth Council Ilya Kuzmichev noted that the Commission is actively working with young people, teachers and students of the Union. One of the important objectives – the popularization of Eurasian economic integration among young people, the development of mechanisms for youth participation in the discussion of key decisions in the EAEU. Eurasian integration processes are very dynamic. The Commission and the Union need new, often unconventional, ideas from young people, which are brought to the Commission, including during the internship of university students here.

After watching presentation videos about the EEC and the EAEU, the students of the State Customs Academy and Kosygin Russian State University took part in a business game, organized by the Commission’s Integration and Macroeconomics Unit, led by Elena Danilova, Deputy Director of the Development of Integration Department.

Representatives of the trade bloc met with students of the Russian Customs Academy: the heads of the Trade Policy Department, headed by Director Vladimir Serpikov informed the students about the activities of the Commission in this area.
