Experts discussed the issues of information legislation at the conference in St. Petersburg

November 11 the Presidential Library hosted the annual XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Law and Information: Issues of Theory and Practice”.

The conference participants discussed the problems of the state and law in the digital era, the transformation of the institutions of information law and the place of information law in the system of legal sciences in the digital transformation.

The experts also exchanged opinions on the modern system of information law principles. In addition, the conference raised issues related to working with legal knowledge at the present stage, legal provision of information security – including information security in the quantum era, and others.

The plenary session was addressed by the members of the Expert Council of the IPA CIS and Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, by Tatiana Polyakova, Head of the Sector of Information Law and International Information Security, Institute of State and Law of RAS, Doctor of Law, Professor; Lyudmila Tereschenko, Chief Researcher of the Department of Administrative Law and Process, Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor; Lyudmila Tereschenko, Professor of the Department of Information Law and Digital Technology of Moscow State University, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering Education).

In a number of speeches the activity of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in the field of model lawmaking in the information sphere was noted in a positive aspect. In particular, the new edition of the model Information Code for the CIS Member States was positively assessed and adopted at the 54th plenary session of the Assembly on October 28, 2022 in Samarkand, as well as the work on the development of legal and regulatory support of electronic commerce.
