Dmitry Kobitsky met with the leadership of the International Trade Union Confederation of Railwaymen

On November 23, the Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Dmitry Kobitsky met with the Chairman of the Russian Trade Union of Railwaymen and Transport Builders and the International Confederation of Railwaymen Unions (ICRUW) Sergey Chernogaev, and the Secretary General of the ICRUW – Gennady Kosolapov. The occasion of the meeting was the 7th Congress of the ICRW, which opened today in the Tauride Palace – the headquarters of the IPA CIS.

At the meeting the parties exchanged greetings and discussed possible ways of cooperation in the main fields of activity. They also informed each other about their work and discussed the possibilities of cooperation.

Let us remind you that the ICUW brings together more than 2 million railroad employees from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Estonia. The unions highly appreciate cooperation with the Rail Transport Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

At the Congress it is planned to consider the initiatives of Rosprofzhel, Kazproftrans and Belproftrans to sign memoranda of cross-border cooperation and collaboration. During the Congress the Russian side will sign similar documents with the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
