President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that there is an opinion that the fate of the CSTO depends on the outcome of a special military operation of Russia, but expressed confidence that the organization “will not collapse” and will not leave the military-political arena.

Speaking at a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in an expanded format, he explained that the arguments about the dependence of the CSTO’s continued existence on the outcome of its own have recently been heard in the media. “If Russia wins, the CSTO will live. If, God forbid, it does not win, the CSTO will not exist,” the President of Belarus stated this thesis. “And in our countries, too, many hotheads have started discussing this problem.”

Lukashenko stressed that “there should not even be such conversations.” “We are not going to leave the military-political arena. The CSTO will exist, and no one will collapse anywhere. But we need unity,” the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenko added: “I feel that we have come to a consensus that if, God forbid, Russia collapses, then our place is under these rubble.”
