From December 1 to 5, the Rachmaninoff Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host the Five Evenings Chamber Music Festival. The Union of Composers will present works by more than 40 authors from 14 regions of the country.

The program of the first festival day will include works by contemporary Russian composers who work with folklore and folk instruments: a colorful “Remembrance of the Fair”, a suite “Shadow Theater”, an incendiary toccata for domras, a duel play “Love and Hate” and “Russian Counterpoint”. Also on December 1, the world premiere of the piano sonata “Mr. Veliky Novgorod” will take place.

On December 2, listeners will learn how the authors explore music with the help of hearing, sight and touch. The concert program will include multimedia Luce, video art “process of singing electrons”, electronic pieces “Goodbye, my beloved 9th floor” and “Squaring the Circle”, experimental scores and an improvisational set of the ElActrio project.

On December 3, experimental ensemble opuses will be performed together with scores for a large choir. The guests of the evening will hear the troparion to the Monk Andrei Rublev, the poetry of Sergei Yesenin and Olga Bergholz, “Pushkin Groves”, the reflections of Eduard Limonov, as well as the poetic triptych “The Blessed One”, created by the mystic philosopher and artist Nicholas Roerich.

The program on December 4 will include the world premieres of the plays “Chiaroscuro” and “Blanca wants coffee”, homage to Handel’s music and Argentine tango, “Serenade” and “Acoustic-Spatial Mirages”. Also during the concert, the organizers will award music researchers — winners and laureates of the International Musicology Competition “Music Academy”.

On December 5, the composition “Kaleidoscope” and piano pieces from the cycle “Ladies of the Philharmonic Society”, the virtuoso flute poem and sonata “2022” for domra and piano, “Illusion” and the meditative composition “10 glasses” will be performed. Some works will be performed for the first time: the composers created them as part of the program of creative orders “Notes and Quotas” of the Union of Composers.
