Tajikistan and Azerbaijan discussed the possibility of establishing joint industrial enterprises

On July 7, 2023, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavkizod Zavki Amin met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hidayat Asadov in Baku, Azerbaijan, during which issues of expanding bilateral economic cooperation were discussed.

Zavkizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far–sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the respected Ilham Aliyev, bilateral cooperation has constantly developed and reached a high level of reliable partnership.

At the meeting, in order to implement the instructions of the Presidents of the two countries, the parties discussed issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, the creation of joint industrial enterprises, including within the free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, the transportation of crude oil from Azerbaijan for the needs of the Dangara oil refinery, raising capital for the reconstruction of the Tajik Aluminum Company plant, export of aluminum, cryolite and aluminum fluoride from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan, import of alumina from Azerbaijan to Tajikistan, processing of agricultural products, the provision of discounts on freight transportation by rail, the development of tourism, the search and exploration of underground deposits in Tajikistan, as well as the increase in bilateral trade.
