Among the main topics of the meeting are the results of cooperation in the field of conformity assessment, interaction of testing laboratories, standardization in the agro–industrial complex, ensuring the uniformity of measurements and many other areas. For example, in terms of cooperation in the field of accreditation and testing laboratories, the parties highly appreciated the existing cooperation on the participation of laboratories in mutual rounds of qualification verification and agreed to continue cooperation on new joint programs in 2024. Over the past four years, the parties have implemented about 15 joint projects of interlaboratory comparison tests, including five rounds of water quality analysis, in which about 130 laboratories from various regions of Russia took part. The Chinese colleague also shared their experience in implementing new versions of the international standards ISO 15189:2022 “Medical laboratories. Specific requirements for quality and competence” and ISO/IEC 17043:2023 “Conformity assessment. The basic requirements for conducting a qualification check.”

Progress was noted in cooperation on metrological support for measurements of quantitative and qualitative indicators of natural gas and petroleum products, in the field of physical and chemical measurements, and prospects for cooperation in the field of modern measuring technologies were discussed.

Among the proposals made for new areas of cooperation are the interaction of the national forest certification systems of Russia and China, as well as the integration of educational projects and initiatives in the field of personnel training in the field of metrology and standardization. Thus, the Russian side presented the results of the work of the Metrological Educational Cluster of Rosstandart.

The People’s Republic of China continues to be one of our country’s key partners in the field of metrology and standardization, and the site of the Permanent Working Group continues to demonstrate effectiveness in developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of quality infrastructure. It is worth noting that in the second half of this year this is the third meeting of the heads of national standardization bodies of the two countries – Anton Shalaev and Tian Shihong, taking place this time on the day of the regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China.
