From June 20 to 30, 2023, the VIII International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” was held in Uzbekistan. Following its results, a resolution was adopted with proposals and initiatives from participants from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The document was sent to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the younger generation of the Commonwealth countries told what they managed to do in 10 days of the eventful program of the forum. They discussed topical issues of protecting the rights and interests of children, preserving cultural heritage, access to quality education, solving environmental problems, promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as a number of others.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to the events, we got the opportunity to show patriotic spirit, national pride, a sense of love and devotion to our peoples, respect for the history of the Commonwealth, scientific, creative, cultural and educational heritage,” the final document says.<\/p>\n

Schoolchildren got acquainted with the presentations of national traditions and customs of the peoples of the CIS states, held productive meetings, visited exhibitions, participated in master classes, sports competitions, intellectual games, educational trainings, music competitions, art evenings, meetings with famous people of our time and many different interesting events.<\/p>\n

The guys stressed that holding a cultural and educational forum allows creating the necessary conditions for the comprehensive development of young people, revealing their intellectual, scientific and creative potential, supporting innovative ideas and inventions. They confirmed the need for this forum as a platform for ensuring effective interethnic communication within the framework of international youth cooperation.<\/p>\n

The children of the Commonwealth visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and met with its Chairman\u00a0Tanzila Narbayeva.<\/p>\n

In the resolution, the guys proposed to develop a dialogue platform for meetings with parliamentarians who could listen to the opinions and initiatives of children on various topical issues.<\/p>\n

The guys consider it necessary to launch an educational exchange program between schoolchildren of the CIS countries in order to create conditions for mutual study of educational methodologies and exchange of experience in the field of school education.<\/p>\n

Also, in their opinion, it is necessary to develop an educational program of digital literacy for children and adolescents and introduce it into the children’s curriculum to prevent the negative impact of information technology and develop immunity against the challenges of the information age.<\/p>\n

Another initiative of schoolchildren was the annual holding of the intellectual game “Zakovat” between young experts of the CIS countries within the framework of the forum.<\/p>\n

The guys suggested a number of changes for future forums:\u00a0 to attract more countries to participate, to increase the number of participants in the delegations, to consolidate the practice of sightseeing and cultural and educational trips for a closer acquaintance with the sights of the host country. As a homework assignment, the students offered to prepare presentations of youth projects on the main environmental problems of their country in order to jointly discuss ways to solve them at the forum.<\/p>\n

The participants were impressed by the meeting with young diplomats, so they consider it important to continue working on teaching children’s diplomacy due to the relevance and importance of this topic.<\/p>\n

Uzbek pilaf, Belarusian pastries and Kazakh sweets did not leave the schoolchildren indifferent. Among the initiatives is to organize thematic days of “Cuisines of the peoples of the CIS countries”, where each delegation will cook, present national dishes of their country and organize a lunch for the forum participants.<\/p>\n

In addition, the delegations proposed to create an Internet platform “Children of the Commonwealth”, which will host all relevant information about the events of the forum, archives with photos and videos, a chat where children could communicate, exchange impressions and contacts.<\/p>\n

Recall that the eighth international cultural and educational forum of the CIS member states “Children of the Commonwealth” was held in Uzbekistan from June 20 to 30.<\/p>\n

One of the days of the forum was dedicated to each country, students got acquainted with its history, geography, cuisine, culture and traditions. The children of the Commonwealth visited the State Museum of Timurid History, the Astrum IT Academy, made a hike in the mountains, met with representatives of the Youth Parliament of Uzbekistan, young stars of chess sports and prominent figures of theater and cinema of Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

The event was organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS.<\/p>\n
