On the meeting of Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M.L.Bogdanov with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Russian Federation Hassan Abdi Dawud

On November 16, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M.L. Bogdanov received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Russian Federation, Hassan Abdi Daoud, at his request.

In the course of the conversation they discussed in detail the further strengthening of Russian-Somali relations in various fields. At the same time, the sides confirmed the desire of Moscow and Mogadishu to expand interaction in the UN and other international organizations.

H.A. Daoud gave a detailed briefing on domestic political and socio-economic developments in Somalia during the post-election period and the steps taken by the new Cabinet to normalize the humanitarian situation in the country and ensure internal security. The Russian side reaffirmed its support in principle for the efforts of the Somali leadership to establish lasting civil peace in the country.
